The challenge:
Canon invited five U.S.-based print service providers to each create wallcovering panels using the state-of-the-art Colorado M5W Pro printer.
The catch?
Each company received the same two types of media, the same print file, and identical printer settings¹. Panels were produced without any prior knowledge of the other participants’ results.
The outcome?
One amazing color experience. In a true testament to the Colorado’s capabilities, the prints created in each facility were stunningly consistent and had outstanding dimensional accuracy from panel to panel. At Printing United 2024, the final results were mounted together to display one consistent wall design.
Using WCVCA 6 Mil Textured Vinyl Wallcovering with PSA and Faze 3 MetalX™ Silver Metalized Wallcovering, this challenge showcases Colorado M-series large format printing technology at its finest.
Colorado M-series UVgel 64 Inch Roll-to-Roll Printers

- Cold LED Curing helps to reduce media distortion for accurate panel-to-panel alignment.

Colorado Wallcovering Challenge designer
Kate Merritt, a celebrated British surface pattern designer, began her illustrious career in London as an art editor, designing magazines and illustrating children’s books.
