September traditionally signals the start of the new tradeshow season, and this year, everybody was more than ready for it. Although Covid restrictions are still in place to a larger or lesser extent in various countries, what is common is that there is a great thirst for the industry to meet face to face again.
The first fair that opened the season was Sign2com in Belgium. Being a local show for the Benelux, it attracted almost as many visitors over its course of the 3 days then the previous version from 2018 and we saw nothing but smiling faces. Canon was represented by two (!) partners, which resulted in a showcase of a Arizona 135 GT, a Colorado 1630 and a Colorado 1650, making this the world premiere of Canon’s two new products on a public tradeshow.
Canon’s Kris Walewijns also held a highly attended keynote “Post Pandemic Positivism: Opportunities in Interior Décor for Everyone”, highlighting this huge opportunity for all LFG print service providers. Get in contact with Kris Walewijns (kris.walewijns@cpp.canon) to know more on the topic and to get your own keynote!
And last but not least we want to share with you the hot application of the show: Personalized wrapping paper. One of the Canon partners was showcasing a workflow complete with and extra-large touchscreen/console where you could walk up to, configure and personalize your own wallpaper on the spot, then see it being printed on the Colorado 1630 and then you got to take it home. People were queuing up to experience it and get their own personalized version!
A real crowd stopper, and a new success application to add to the long, long list of things you can do better with a Colorado!
